There are some weddings that leave a footprint in my heart. Phylissia and Alton’s wedding did just that. It was a sunny day. Weather gave an amazing break and warmed up just perfect for their day. She even said it had to be her grandpa doing it all from up above. That day was his birthday I recall her saying. Blue skies and a happy bride just waiting for the hours to wind down until it was time to head over to the church. Phylissia wore her mother’s wedding gown which was handmade for her wedding. The delicate details hand sewn on the gown were stunning. Anybody who gets to know Phylissia will instantly see that her smile lights up any room. In fact I really think that her laugh and her smile are contagious. You’ll see what I mean as you scroll through these pictures. Utter happiness and joy overflowed on February 11th.
Let’s talk about Alton. So here’s a little more about their love story and why you’ll soon come to the conclusion just like I did and so did everyone else present that day at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Phylissia’s grandpa was named Alton, and so was her Aunt. When they met and she asked his name he confidently said “no one knows how to pronounce it” and she even more confidently responded with “I do!”. It’s then, and other little things like their ties to New Orleans and many other signs that just gives you goosebumps and makes you realize we have witnessed a love truly meant to be. I couldn’t help but hold tears back as Phylissia walked down the aisle. Seeing Alton and his reaction when he saw her was priceless.
The reception took place at The Renaissance Hotel in Dallas. It was decorated with beautiful flowers (brought in straight from Minnesota) in Phylissia’s favorite colors. Each table had different signage that represented New Orleans. Fleur De Lis’s were adorned on the cake and on the tables as well. Candle-lit dinner and a Jazz band started the evening with the introduction of Mr. and Mrs. Clark. Then the party livened up with a real life Brass Band playing some of New Orleans most popular songs. Talk about fun! It’s views to Downtown Dallas and and guests that never stopped dancing made this wedding an unforgettable one!
We are truly honored to have witnessed and documented such a beautiful day for the both of them. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness.
