Working in a creative field, such as photography, it can be easy to fall into a creative slump. When this happens, it may seem impossible to come up with new content that you’re proud of. But don’t worry, if you feel like you’re in a creative slump, there are a few things you can do to get yourself out of it quickly.
Take A Break
This may seem counterintuitive, but if you feel yourself in a slump, take a break and do something else. Something as simple as going on a walk or taking a shower can make your difference. Your brain needs this time to relax so you can focus.
Get Some Exercise
Physical activity has a number of benefits. We all known it’s important to get regular exercise for your physical wellbeing, but it’s also a good idea to stay fit for your mental health as well. Including a workout 3-4 days a week will help you release endorphins, making your brain happy.
Find Some Inspiration
Take a look at the work of others and find what inspires you. While you should never copy someone else’s work, you can certainly draw inspiration from it. Sites like Pinterest, Instagram and even Tumblr are great places to find amazing photography.
Take A Course
Perhaps you have been wanting to take an online course to improve your current skillset or are looking to learn a new skill altogether, signing up for a class can be a great way to find your creative spark. Build a relationship with the instructor and gain knowledge and inspiration from him or her.
