Bridal Portraits at  The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens all year round are always pretty.  I love the spring and summer sessions here, mainly because of the extra time we get on Wednesday’s but also because of the pretty blooms.  A few things I always tell my brides who choose to do bridal portraits at the Dallas Arboretum as their location for bridal portraits:

1. Come dressed. Dallas Arboretum will not let you change on the property.  So even if you have a big puffy wedding dress and it sounds like it will be a chore to hop in a car and get to The Arboretum.  You’ll have to.  It has that rule, and it’s always better anyway because you can save time.
2. If you can do the session during the week, try your hardest to get hair and makeup on board months ahead. Weekdays are less busy and you don’t have to wait endless minutes on taking turns at the prettiest spots.  Also the Arboretum allows members to stay from 6-8pm on Wednesdays and the lighting is better during the spring, summer and early fall months.
3. Be sure to bring comfy shoes. I’m talking about flip flops, flats, tennis shoes, whatever. You can also bring your heels, but mostly you won’t need them unless we do specific shots where your feet will show.
4. Do bring a bouquet. Have one ordered with time for your bridal portraits.  It give you an extra thing to do with your hands and it adds a special touch to all of your images.
5. Relax, have fun and just know that I will be there guiding you each part of the session. By the time it’s over you’ll wonder why you were so nervous to begin with! 🙂

So if you’re a bride and you’re contemplating on whether to add on a bridal session.  Do it! it’s the perfect excuse to feel like a queen before your wedding day, you can do a trial hair and makeup pre-wedding. You can break in your wedding shoes and you can bring your bestie, mom, or whoever to come watch you have fun for about an hour!
