Big belly laughs and so many crying moments, the good crying ones, on that February day. Everything about this Belo Mansion Wedding day gave me the feels. It wasn’t just about all the pretty floral and the gorgeous bridesmaids dresses and everything else so grand that day. It was about seeing two people wanting to be together forever, surrounded by the love of their family and friends. Here is their wedding day as I saw it through my eyes.
The day started for the Groom and the Groomsmen at the Marriott hotel just a couple of blocks away from where the Bride and the Bridesmaids would be getting ready at the Belo mansion. The wedding day always seems more fun when you have your besties with you on your special day. Rachael and her girls enjoyed popping champagne bottles and giggles, but nothing seemed more special than the moment when Rachael was about to get into her dress. The moment with her and her mom brought tears to my eyes.
The Cathedral of the Virgin Guadalupe is really right next door to the Belo Mansion. Which made Rachael all that more excited about walking over to the church. I could feel her excitement, and remembered why. Rachael was just a little girl when she visited the Cathedral on a school trip. She must have fallen in love with the thought of being married here when it was that time. Years later and with the love of her life waiting for her at the other end of the altar, her dream would come true. In all the sense of the word.
A special moment happened during the ceremony which I hope in all my years of doing weddings I never forget. As the three flower girls walked down the aisle. Connor and Rachael’s daughter Madeline Grace, the tiny little one walked and fell down once, and got up. She walked and fell down again, and got right back up. Just when you thought she wouldn’t want to walk anymore she did, she walked again and guess what fell right back down a third time and you know what? She got back up.
The priest said something during the sermon. He said Madeline Grace had given us all the sermon even before the ceremony had started. When you fall down once, you get up. When you fall again, you get up again and when you fall for the third time and you feel like you can’t, you do so again. That moment set the tone for the rest of the day. It had already started as a beautiful day, but I felt blessed to be able to witness that and that made it all that more beautiful. These are moments couples allow me to witness, to be a part of. It truly is an honor couples allow me to be a part of something so special in their lives.
As you all know weddings are the ham to my sandwich, the cream to my coffee, the macaroni to my cheese. You get my drift! They are my jam! Bride and groom portraits are what I enjoy most on a wedding day. It’s where I feel most creative and when I feel my adrenaline pumping at 100%. When couples plan their portraits around Sunset time, oh my goodness. I want to hug them and say thank you! I couldn’t have been more in love with Rachael and Connor’s portraits anymore than what I already am. First looks, first dances, and the dances with mom or dad always get me too! I just love being a Dallas Wedding Photographer!
The reception details put together by Laura Druck from The Social Gather were magnificent. You can see just how great she is at what she does! The band had the entire dance floor completely packed the entire night, leading up until the very last moments of the Lynch Wedding. A cajun line dance led out the Bride and Groom to their getaway car and in those last moments I could still see the very excitement I saw in Rachael’s face as she walked over to the Cathedral.
Wishing you Rachael and Connor many more days of happiness. May your marriage be even more beautiful than your wedding day!
I’ve always said a great wedding day is the effort all of the team of vendors put in together for the couple and This team was amazing!
